Albania has never won Miss Universe title since its arrival in 2002. Albania’s first representative in the Miss Universe pageant, Anisa Kospiri, made it to the top ten semi-finalists and last year Miss Albania 2009 Hasna Xhukici made it to the top 15 semi-finalists.

This year, Miss Albania 2010 Anxhela Martini has a better chance of winning the 2010 Miss Universe title. Anxhela or known as “Angela” in U.S. is a professional model who grew up from one of the oldest and most historic towns in Albania – Shkodra and now resides in New York.

She won the Miss Albania 2010 title last July 10, 2010 in a Night Club in Durres. The 24-year old model has achieved considerable success in the world of American fashion. She has signed and presented by one of the best agencies in the modeling world “Elite Model Company” in New York.

She appeared in several GUESS lingerie ad campaigns, JC Penney catalogs, and GMC in Sports Illustrated magazine.

She has also worked for Dolce Gabbana (D&G), Versace and Gucci.

Even though she was busy with her work in and outside the U.S., Anxhela never forgets to call her mother, Nexhi Ibrahim Nussbaumer.

She loves her mom so much. She said that her mother has the biggest heart of anyone in the world.
