0 Huyen Trang won the first Viet Nam’s Next Top Model

Vietpop – The 21-year-old Khieu Thi Huyen Trang from Northern Province of Bac Giang won the first Viet Nam’s Next Top Model competition on Jan 23 at the InterContinental Asiana Saigon Hotel in HCM City.

Fashion designer Huy Vo, a judge on the show, noted that Trang had not been the clear winner in previous shows. “I was surprised by her excellent performance on the final night,” said Vo. “She deserves the prize.”
Trang, who stands 1.78m and measures 81-63.5-93.5, will sign a two year contract with CA Model company worth US$50,000. She will receive a scholarship for a model training course at the Wilhelmina Models Company. She also receives a diamond ring worth VND200 million and a Piaggio LX125.
“I feel very happy about the prizes,” Trang said. “This is my gift to my mother, who has supported me during the past few months.”

0 Angela Martini – Miss Albania Universe 2010

Albania has never won Miss Universe title since its arrival in 2002. Albania’s first representative in the Miss Universe pageant, Anisa Kospiri, made it to the top ten semi-finalists and last year Miss Albania 2009 Hasna Xhukici made it to the top 15 semi-finalists.

This year, Miss Albania 2010 Anxhela Martini has a better chance of winning the 2010 Miss Universe title. Anxhela or known as “Angela” in U.S. is a professional model who grew up from one of the oldest and most historic towns in Albania – Shkodra and now resides in New York.

She won the Miss Albania 2010 title last July 10, 2010 in a Night Club in Durres. The 24-year old model has achieved considerable success in the world of American fashion. She has signed and presented by one of the best agencies in the modeling world “Elite Model Company” in New York.

She appeared in several GUESS lingerie ad campaigns, JC Penney catalogs, and GMC in Sports Illustrated magazine.

She has also worked for Dolce Gabbana (D&G), Versace and Gucci.

Even though she was busy with her work in and outside the U.S., Anxhela never forgets to call her mother, Nexhi Ibrahim Nussbaumer.

She loves her mom so much. She said that her mother has the biggest heart of anyone in the world.

0 Lan Huong, Quang Thinh to compete at Asian Model Competition

Two Vietnamese models, Lan Huong and Quang Thinh,  will leave Vietnam for South Korea on January 19 to join the 6^th Asian Model Festival in Seoul.

Lan Huong said she was very surprised to be invited to the festival by the Hanayome group. Since Huong won the fourth runner-up title at the World Model 2009 competition, she has not attended any competitions.

Lan Huong, 21, 1.75m, 85-58-94, entered the top five of the World Model 2009. Quang Thinh, 1.85m, 101-79-100, has won many prizes at model competitions in Vietnam. He was the favorite contestant of the Manhunt 2008 competition in South Korea.

Both of them are models of the Venus Company.

The 6^th Asian Model Festival will take place on January 21 in Seoul, with the participation of models from 16 Asian countries.

This is an annual event of the Korean Model Association. Last year models Anh Thu and Duc Tien represented Vietnam at this event.
